Kidspiration is a simplified version of the well known graphical organizer Inspiration. It is designed for elementary students and can accommodate users who don’t read or are learning English. As a mind mapping application it offers limited versions of the standard tools, and would be a good program to use as an introduction to visual outlining. An embedded Word Guide provides students with quick access to a dictionary. The program goes beyond the usual visual organizers with the addition of “Math View”. This is a collection of virtual manipulatives and activities that would be a valuable addition to any primary math instruction. Overall, the program could contribute an effective way to help students organize information and to help teachers integrate technology into any curriculum area.
